      <image:title>Home - Our Values as Therapists</image:title>
<image:caption>One of our most important values is to treat our clients based on what they bring with them to their session. We will let your beliefs, needs, and goals be the guide. Whatever your background, religion, identity, or belief system, you will be fully accepted. Over the course of your treatment, our therapists may occasionally ask questions about your thoughts or actions as part of the therapy process to help you uncover motivations and desires, but won’t seek to challenge your core self– our goal is to help you become a healthier, more self-aware version of you.</image:caption>

<image:title>Individual Counseling - Individual counseling explores your relationship with yourself.</image:title>
<image:caption>Whether you're seeking counseling because of anxiety, depression, disconnection, or anything else, individual counseling sessions can help you understand the path that brought you to where you are today. Therapy is a safe, confidential space for you to develop insight into the behaviors, events, and burdens that affect your life, and build tools for managing future challenges. Solutions and techniques learned in therapy lead to long-term, sustainable growth that changes lives.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Individual Counseling - Collateral Sessions</image:title>
<image:caption>A joint session with a supportive person In individual counseling, we’ll often discuss relationships with people who strongly impact your life. Occasionally, it may be helpful to invite one or more of those people– a partner, parents, a sibling, a caregiver, etc.– to join one or more sessions. It can be helpful to bring the person in to practice new skills, explore aspects of the relationship, or resolve conflict with the guidance of a therapist. By providing a safe space to address a specific need, both parties can learn from each other and build better patterns for the future. Individual and collateral sessions are 50 minutes. <image:title>Couples' Therapy - In couples therapy, the relationship between two intimate partners is treated as its own person, meaning that neither partner’s needs or priorities are placed above the relationship itself.</image:title>
<image:caption>When both partners take on this mindset, it creates an avenue for a shared experience of healing and growth. We will explore the relationship’s dynamic to understand what is happening, how to improve the interactions, and reduce conflict. Whether your goal is to heal a marriage, work towards a marriage, or decide if marriage is right for you and your partner, we can help you ask the right questions and achieve your goals. In couples sessions we primarily utilize Emotional Focused Therapy which involves a thorough assessment and works directly with the emotional attachment and bond of your relationship. Couples therapy sessions are 50-minutes, and can be done with dating, engaged, long-term, or married couples. Learn About Our Approaches To Therapy</image:caption>

      <image:title>Approaches - Mindfulness</image:title>
<image:caption>Mindfulness-Based therapy encourages knowledge of the connection between the mind and body. In our culture, we often view the mind and body as separate, but they are deeply inter-connected. We explore how the mind interprets the body’s experience, and we seek to understand how these parts are interwoven and interdependent. Sage Mind Wellness therapists utilize the skills of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) as strategies to increase awareness and connection to the body, reduce stress and anxiety, and cultivate a healthy relationship with the mind.</image:caption>

<image:title>Life Transitions - Sometimes these transitions happen in a different order than those around us, leaving us feeling behind or out of place. Or the transition can be a negative one: a job loss or a divorce, leaving us with a different life than we planned.</image:title>
<image:caption>It’s also possible to have done everything “right” and still feel lost and unfocused. ‘Life transitions’ is a term we use to refer to the changes that can impact us in a significant way. It’s perfectly normal to need help and guidance during these times. Engaging in focused, in-depth therapy can help you process the emotions that a change is stirring up. It will also guide you in exploring the underlying stories and histories that are showing up in the present. You’ll be empowered through therapy to make decisions from a place of insight and wisdom, ultimately navigating the transition and working to build the life you imagine.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Relational Trauma</image:title>
<image:caption>Humans are wired to seek connection and safety in relationships, whether in our family of origin or our chosen intimate partners. When there is emotional disruption, a lack of safety and connection will often create mental health symptoms and stress responses. It is common for these individuals to begin therapy with complaints of depression, anxiety, and high stress levels. An assessment of past experiences and the nature of someone’s closest relationships can help your counselor understand how relational trauma is at the root of our difficult present-day experiences.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Relational Trauma - “Little T” trauma</image:title>
<image:caption>A consistently unmet need, such as a lack of understanding of your emotional experience or a stressor like constant criticism, particularly in your family of origin, can lead to “little T” traumas. Repeating this pattern can be painful and lead to feelings of low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and dissatisfaction with life. Highly functional people and those with an overall positive experience of their upbringing and childhood occasionally experience a lack of alignment and feel distressed by patterns in their adult relationships. We come out of these “little T” experiences in our family of origin with patterned behavior that appears to be strength in managing life’s stressors but can also be a challenge. At Sage Mind Wellness, we feel strongly that simply “managing” and “coping” with this “little T” trauma are not effective strategies.</image:caption>

<image:caption>The family members, spouses, and close friends of those struggling with addiction carry a very specific type of trauma, and it is often pushed aside in favor of focusing more (or less) on that person in their orbit. At Sage Mind, we are uniquely positioned to help you journey towards rediscovering your identity apart from that person if necessary, and to walk towards healing and acceptance.</image:caption>
