DBT Skills Group for deeper trauma work, sobriety, and managing life’s anxieties.

How it works

DBT Skills Group is a 24-week, in-person skills training group that covers all four modules of Dialectical Behavior Therapy:

Mindfulness
Distress Tolerance
Emotion Regulation
Interpersonal Effectiveness

Members commit to the group in 8-week modules at a time, with rolling enrollment until the group is full.

Once a module closes, new members are welcome to join at the start of the next one.

Sessions blend structured skills teaching with collaboration about how those skills land in everyday life.

Members work with handouts, complete skills practice between sessions, and check in on how implementation is going through diary card review.

Goal is to build a practical, working toolkit.

DBT can sometimes feel clinical and mechanical, like working through a manual rather than actually learning something useful.

Group takes the same evidence-based framework and makes it more human. Skills are taught in a way that's digestible, and we talk about what's working, what isn't, and how to actually apply this stuff to real life.

It's structured enough to move through the material with intention, but collaborative enough that members learn from each other, not just from group leader (me).. Focus is on practical application.

Who is this for?

  • Group is designed for adults 18 and older who are ready to build coping skills and put them to use.

  • It's a good fit for people working on recovery from addiction, managing anxiety or rumination, or navigating anger in ways that feel out of control.

  • Also a strong complement to individual therapy, particularly for clients doing EMDR work who want to strengthen their coping resources before engaging in deeper processing.

  • People who tend to thrive here are generally stable and functioning in their daily lives, and are looking for structure, community, and a concrete set of tools to manage life more effectively.

  • Group is skills-focused and forward-moving, and works best for those who are ready to show up and do the work between sessions.

This group will meet in person at our office on Thursdays from 7:30pm-8:45pm.
