Neurodiversity, ADHD, & Autism

Neurodivergent-affirming therapy recognizes, values, and supports the unique experiences of neurodiverse individuals.

At Sage Mind Wellness, we offer a supportive space for neurodivergent individuals, with specialization in ADHD and Autism.

If you have been seeking understanding, validation, and support, you are in the right place.

Many of our clients come to therapy feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure why life feels harder than it seems to for others. Some have received a late Autism or ADHD diagnosis. Some have had testing that felt negative, inconclusive, or invalidating. Others already identify as neurodivergent and want space to process their experiences and find more grounded support.

You may have spent years being called lazy, too much, too sensitive, or disconnected, when really you were trying to cope the best way you knew how. You may look capable on the outside while feeling worn down, overwhelmed, or far away from yourself on the inside.

Our approach is rooted in neurodiversity-affirming care and includes tailored techniques, collaborative goal-setting, client-paced trauma exploration, compassionate reframing, and deep curiosity that helps get to the root of things.

What can neuro-affirming therapy help with?

Neurodivergent-affirming therapy is not about changing who you are or pushing you to appear more neurotypical. It is about understanding your sensory needs, communication style, emotional world, and the ways you move through life so that support actually fits your neurotype.

Autism and ADHD affirming therapy can support anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship concerns, self-esteem, and identity exploration, while also addressing sensory sensitivities, executive functioning difficulties, emotional overwhelm, social communication differences, burnout, masking, people pleasing, rejection sensitivity, and self-trust in a supportive, nonjudgmental space.

This work can help you understand how your brain works, validate your lived experience, strengthen self-advocacy, navigate accommodations, express emotions in ways that feel natural to you, and create a life that better supports your needs and identity. It can also support more authentic connection in friendships, family relationships, dating, and mixed neurotype couples.

Every adventure requires a first step!

We are here to help you make sense of your experience, reduce burnout, and build a life that feels more supportive of who you are.
